Turbo: HostGator’s New Web Hosting Plan

A web hosting plan is responsible for storing the information contained in websites and making them available for visitors to access 24/7. There are several ways to host a website. The most popular and widely used plans on the web are shared web hosting plans.

Seeking high performance in the digital environment, HostGator has just launched a new shared web hosting plan : the Turbo Plan!

But what is shared web hosting?

With this type of hosting, multiple websites share the same server and its resources, resulting in more affordable pricing. This is one of the advantages of opting for shared web hosting.

It’s also important to remember that each hosted website has a resource limitation, such as disk space and data transfer. Therefore, it’s a popular whatsapp number list model for small to medium-sized websites and blogs with a reasonable traffic flow.

HostGator Shared Web Hosting

Within the shared plan, HostGator offers different web hosting plans based on the website’s needs. This way, each client can choose the best hosting service, the most suitable for their website. Learn the difference:

  • Personal Plan: Ideal for small projects that are just starting out. This plan allows you to host one website and includes 5 GB of storage.
  • Entrepreneur Plan: With the resources needed to create professional entry-level websites. This plan includes 25 GB of SSD storage and unlimited email accounts.
  • Business Plan: By choosing this plan, you can host multiple high-capacity websites thanks to 50 GB of SSD storage.
  • Turbo Plan: New to HostGator. This plan is ideal for advanced projects requiring high performance. The Turbo plan allows hosting multiple domains and includes 75GB of SSD storage.

Web Hosting Plan Updates

The Turbo plan operates within a shared web hosting structure, but its main difference from other alternatives is the exclusivity of resource allocation. The limits are higher for website usage, allowing double the usage power.

With this structure, large and robust projects can come to life with the advantage of a shared web hosting plan, a cost-effective data security and privacy solution. This plan has features designed for those already established in the digital environment and now want more performance.

Double the processing

Processing power is expanded to support more files, allowing twice as many simultaneous processes and database connections compared to HostGator’s other shared plans.

In terms of numbers, the number of processes and connections to the database has increased from 25 simultaneous processes to 50 simultaneous processes.

Testing the performance of the Turbo Plan

To test all these new features, we ran tests in an environment similar to the HostGator Brazil blog. We used the structure of our sister blog to study the performance of the new Turbo plan.

The HostGator Blog in Brazil was launched in August 2009 and, like us, uses WordPress as its content management system—one of the most well-known frameworks in the world for website development.
>The content production is targeted at Brazilian users and has over 300 posts, receiving an average of 70,000 visits per month.

For this test, we created an identical saudi data copy of the blog, with the goal of testing the stress caused by the increased number of requests, that is, we flooded the server with requests to open the blog’s home page, evaluating the server’s response time to display the page.

With this test we arrive at the following result:

  • The Entrepreneur and Business plans can support a total of 75 visits with a page opening time of 13 seconds.
  • With the Turbo plan, the result is different. Processing the same number of requests, it’s possible to receive 158 visits with a page opening time of 6 seconds.

If your current website needs more traffic and faster speed, the Turbo web hosting plan is the ideal solution, offering much greater performance within a shared environment.

Now that you know all about the new Turbo plan, visit the website and learn about the plans, or chat with one of our online consultants.
